       Education

    Having graduated from the University of Warwick with a BA in 2008, I subsequently obtained an LLM (with Merit) in International Commercial Law (with a particular emphasis on Intellectual Property) from the University of Nottingham in 2009 and completed the Legal Practice Course at College of Law (London, Bloomsbury) in 2010.

    - Scholarship - Commonwealth of Independent States Scholarship from the University of Nottingham (2008-2009)

    Lewis Gaze Scholarship 2009 - prize winner for a paper on Intellectual Property questioning the adequacy of the current infringement provisions in respect of trademarks and their commercial values. The thesis also briefly examined the issue of brand management and its improvement in the context of enhancement of a brand's value to its owner.

    • M&A department - conducted research on an acquisition together with taking part in negotiations for the successful completion of the transaction.

    • Employment department - undertook research on secondments and assisted in the drafting of a contract of employment.      

       Spratt Endicott Solicitors - Banbury (July 2007) Summer Placement

    • IP department - participated in negotiations with the head of the IP department relating to registration of a Community Trade Mark.

    • Commercial property department - undertook research, drafted covering letters and completed the Land Registry forms in relation to a leasehold transaction.

    • Completed research on insolvency matters.

    Needham and James LLP - Stratford-upon-Avon (July 2007) Summer Placement (1 week)

    • Commercial property department – title research (freehold, leasehold, easements).

    • Private client department - drafted wills, agricultural documents and Powers of Attorney.

    • Attended and produced attendance notes for meetings with clients.

       Extra curricular activities

    • MARQUES- covering the IP developments in Russia and producing short reviews of the recent case law produced by the Court of First Instance and the European Court of Justice. The articles are published on the Class46 blog belonging to the Association of Trade Mark Owners.

    • Linguistic Improvement and Practice Society- 17/02/2007 - 20/02/2008- held the position of President and Russian Group Leader and prior to 17/02/2007 – held the position of Secretary and Social Officer in the Executive Committee.

    • Badminton Club- member of the Nottingham university badminton team (2008-2009) and the badminton team of the University of Warwick (2006-2008). Captain of the mixed team at Crescent Badminton Club (London) (present).

    • Warwick Volunteers- assisted with “Age Concern” (2007- present), “Mentoring” (2007-2008) and “Hereward College for Disabled” projects (2006-2007).
